As we are an actual sawmill, we are able to mill timber to meet with customer specifications ie: boards, slabs etc.  Should you require a cubic metre or two of timber being a special size, we are generally able to accommodate.  We also mill customer owned timber on our site here in Jarrahdale at very competitive rates.

MoebelAKW owner Andre Wuesch has created an innovative product involving the use of timber veneers. 

The Engineered Solid Timber board (EST-board) is an overlay project that aims to promote the concept of "use less for more" from the valuable Western Australian hardwood resource.

Heritage Sawmillers produces overlays of 4mm thick, are green cut to improve resource utilisation and greater value adding to lower grade hardwoods.  Initial trial results on jarrah and sheoak are very promising.

Advantages: EST-board combines the advantages of veneered board and solid timber and thereby outperforms both products.   It is more stable and lighter than solid hardwood and does not hold the adverse properties that cause the known restrictions in design and construction of solid timber furniture.                            

Since similar lamellas are produced from one board, sequencing allows to create a more balanced appearance as known from veneered panels.  In that way large dimensions can be created from small dimension timber without visible joints.

This process stretches the resources of valuable timber, most importantly for species that can not be sliced into veneers.

Furniture designs from the composite of hardwood overlays and internal solid plantation timber core are dimensionally stable, strong and durable.

Thicker 1.2mm jarrah sliced veneers as overlays also give exceptionally good quality finishes and are more hard wearing than the traditional veneer (.55mm) boards.
