Heritage
Sawmillers is a family owned and operated Western Australian business
situated in the small historical country town of Jarrahdale just 45
minutes drive south east of Perth.
Our first
preference is utilizing only dead standing and or forest floor timber to
ensure that premier feature timber is available with minimal impact to
the environment.
Heritage
Sawmillers is not about chopping down our beautiful forests. We
purchase our timber through the Forest Products Commission on a
contractual basis from mine sites such as Alcoa Huntley and Willowdale.
It is the vision
of this business to best utilize our world renowned rich and unique
timber resource by value adding in the form of fine furniture and
flooring.
Heritage
Sawmillers is now part of the Jarrahdale Heritage Park established by
the Serpentine/Jarrahdale Shire, Peel Development Commission and the
National Trust. The site on which we occupy is now listed by the
National Trust and is one of the original Jarrahdale mill sites that was
established in 1873.
The main focus
of the park is on the History of Jarrahdale as a major timber supplier
in days gone by and the significant role Jarrahdale played in our states
economy at the turn of the century (1900).
As we are very
passionate about value adding WA’s rich and unique timber resource, we
are currently in the planning /feasibility stages in building a
furniture gallery & cultural arts centre. Not only will this be of
much benefit to our local community and the district, but this will give
us the opportunity to help showcase the many very talented craftsmen and
women who dedicate many hours in creating fine pieces of furniture and
other artifacts world wide.
We are open to the general public, so if
you have a passion for wood and would like to pay us a visit to
appreciate the natural beauty and uniqueness of WA’s own native timbers,
we welcome you... |
